Scholarship Opportunities

Southern University offers a variety of scholarships and fellowships designed to help you and your family pay for university. Scholarships and grants are types of gift aid that do not have to be repaid.

Financial Assistance for Students

Scholarship/Financial Assistance is offered from the 2nd Semester based on results and need-based situations. Please meet the financial aid officers to discuss your qualifications.

Scholarship for Academic Achievement

Students may apply for scholarships if they meet the GPA and academic excellence criteria set by the Scholarship Committee.

General Eligibility Criteria

• Minimum 12 credit hour registration in each semester
• No waiver for retake/repeat/non-credit courses
• CGPA-based renewal required every semester
• Disciplinary actions disqualify from aid
• Fund availability may impact waiver approval

Merit Scholarship (Based on Southern Results)

Sibling Scholarship

25% tuition waiver to one sibling if both are enrolled. Must meet CGPA and course load criteria.

Southern Financial Aid

Up to 100% waiver for financially disadvantaged students. Proof of income & GPA required.

Physically Challenged

Special waivers for physically challenged students based on case review.

Freedom Fighter’s Child

Eligible for special scholarships based on GPA and documentation.

Employee Child

Confirmed employees’ children are eligible with proof and documentation.

Application Procedure

• Fill the prescribed form available on website or Finance Office
• Submit to Student Affairs Office within deadline
• Scholarship continues automatically if eligible unless discontinued
• Discontinued students must reapply
